As one of the volunteers staffing the co-sponsors’ table, I got to
speak with most of the people who attended, including plenty of
accidental passersby. It was a cause of great encouragement for me to
see everyone’s earnest interest in the project and their joy at
finding community within which to share their concerns and their
hopes. To walk away with a packet of milkweed seeds allowed a
practical next step on the one hand and also an emblem of finding
agency to effect change, albeit small, but as part of a exponential
movement with potential beyond our imagining. To walk away as an
element in a piece of art allowed us to imagine more richly. Thank
